Happy 11th Birthday Drew!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Drewdles. Yes, I'm sorry I put you in angel wings but it seemed like a good idea at the time. You have to admit you DO look sweet and angelic, just the way I remember you as a baby.

You were such a beautiful baby, everything about you was perfection in your daddy and I's eyes. We were in awe to be parents and to be given such an amazing gift.

I've seen such a change in you over the past year. You've become so mature, so appreciative of all your dad and I do with you and for you. You can't imagine how good that makes us feel. I'm glad you've gotten over your aversion to hugs, kisses and I love you's. You even initiate it sometimes, and that makes my day. I love that you still like to hang out with us and talk with us. Some of my most special moments of my day are when you cuddle and talk with me. Please don't ever outgrow that. I love that are never afraid to try something new and when you want something bad enough, you have no problem working hard for that. I admire that in you. You are headstrong and know what you want, that will get you far in life. You are basically one cool dude and I am extremely proud of you and the young man you are becoming. I love you more and more every day. I miss the days of you being little but I've enjoyed every bit of the journey of watching you grow and will continue to be by your side. Love you sweet boy, you'll always be my little Cuddlebug.
Love mom.

Spring School Pictures

I got the three boys' spring school pictures back. My biggest complaint?? They all look too grown up. But they ARE handsome boys and they are all mine. I scanned them in and you can tell I scanned the first differently from the other two, coloring is bad on all three but at least you get the picture. Hah! That was good, get it?? Get the "picture"? Sorry bad headache and too much to do, I'm slaphappy.

Aiden--PreK

Noah--2nd Grade

Drew--5th Grade

Now I'm trying to decide if I should pay $36 for one picture of each of them.

Pinewood Derby Race

A few weeks ago Drew and Noah had the Pinewood Derby race for Scouts. They look forward to this every year.

Drew got 4th place in his age group.

He also won "best of show". The kids can vote on their favorite looking one and Drew was the winner. . This year Drew went with a mouse trap with cheese. Very original.

Noah got 1st place in his age group. He made his to look like a tent.

The bros, their cars, and their winnings.

You Solve The Mystery

Ok, sometimes I let the wierdest things bug me. I really hate it when I can't figure something out and this has got me stumped.

Let me start at the beginning. On Friday, all 3 boys had dentist appointments. Noah ended up getting a baby tooth pulled. That puppy was hanging on by a thread and he wasn't brushing it properly because it "hurt" so it was gross. Literally, the dentist gave a flick of his wrist and it landed on Noah's stomach. I had to laugh at the expression on his face.

So that night, Noah puts his tooth in his tooth box on top of his headboard. The tooth fairy slyly makes the exchange......gross tooth for a crisp dollar bill. Here's where it gets wierd. The next morning I asked Noah if the tooth fairy came during the night. Here is what he tells me.
"I put a dollar bill under my pillow to see if the tooth fairy would take it. She took my tooth and left me a dollar there but then took the dollar from under my pillow so it's like I didn't get any money." Huh? What? THIS tooth fairy did no such thing but what was I supposed to say? I asked him if he was sure and did he look carefully because it could have fallen off of his bed in his sleep or something. He said he couldn't find it. It bugged me all morning so then I had to go in and look. I tore his bed apart....... I looked under the pillow, through the blankets, under the headboard, on both sides of the bed. Nothing. Where did this dollar bill go??? Three days later it's still haunting me.........

This tooth fairy gig isn't what it's cracked up to be.

Soccer

Yesterday was a day full of fun for our soccer loving family. First off was Drew's final indoor soccer game of the season. Todd decided to switch it up a bit and have the parents play the boys. Younger siblings played on the boys' team and older ones played with us adults. We all had SO much fun and agreed we should do that again. It was a really good game too......with one minute left it was tied 8-8. With 20 second left, the boys scored and beat the adults! They were so excited.....it was just so cute and you could tell they were so excited. The best part??? Drew was playing goalie and I scored a goal on him. Yep, this mom can still rock it a little! :)

Later in the afternoon, we played some more soccer. Todd coordinated an indoor soccer game for the Multisport Club. Parents and kids played and we split into two teams. Drew and I were on one side and Todd and Noah on the other. Aiden even "played" too. When he was on the field, he ran around and got some good kicks in. He looked so cute in his soccer gear. He told me "I'm going to be the best soccer player ever!" We all had a lot of fun and it sounds like everyone is up for doing it again soon.

I wish I had pictures from yesterday but that was pretty hard since we were all involved. But the 5 of us agreed it was a fun day. We were all exhausted afterwards though.....we came home, showered, put on PJ's, got some McDonalds and relaxed for the night!

We won't discuss the fact that yesterday was the first day of spring and it snowed ALL DAY LONG!

Mother/Son Date Night

March 6th was the annual Mother/Son Date Night through the Park District. This was the first year Aiden was old enough to go (you have to be 4) but Drew thought he was too old to go. (he probably would have been one of the oldest there). So Drew and Todd had a guys night with pizza and a movie while I took my two youngest guys on our date night along with Beth and my two nephews.
Here's our date night picture they took of us after we arrived and I got my corsage.

Todd attempted to take some of us at home before we left. I'm sad to say this is the best one of the three of us. Most of them had worse lighting than this or Aiden looked like an old man without his dentures in and Noah looked like a deer caught in the headlights.

Like this........

So we didn't have the most photogenic night but we ate lots of yummy food, won some prizes, danced a little crazy, and headed home. It's kind of funny to look out at the dance floor and see all of those young boys going crazy and knowing all of the moms had at least one thing in common.....trying to survive life with boys!! I wouldn't have it any other way.

Work of Art??

At Scouts the other night the boys got to work with clay. Drew made the obligatory clay pot and then decided to get a little creative with his leftover clay. I probably don't even have to tell you what this is but I will....because I can.
This is a man sitting on the toilet reading the paper.
I'm so proud.

I was so worried that something would happen to it. I decided to be a good mom and gently place it in one of my glass display dishes and put it in the hutch.

Um....guess I didnt' realize that when it hardened, the pieces didn't stick together.

Ouch, this can't be good.

On the funny side, I did find a little suprise hiding in the toilet. Drew really thought of every detail.

Crap, Drew is not going to be happy with me when he comes home today.
